CIPS Ontario is the association of IT Professionals in Ontario, Canada. CIPS is recognized by most Canadian Provinces as the regulating body for IT Professionals. The Canadian Information Processing Society of Ontario (CIPS Ontario) is the organization legislated by the Ontario Government to promote IT professionalism and specifically to administer CIPS' certifications in the Province of Ontario.

CIPS Ontario governance changes
As a result of the National governance changes the Board of CIPS Ontario has spent some time looking at what is needed to improve the governance and compliance around the organizational structure in line with our mandate in the Canadian Information Processing Society Act, 1998.
Our members over the next few months will see some of the improvements to the Provincial Society, including changes in the following areas:
